In May, we set up a new coffee morning at Café Porfyra, El Greco Hotel in Ierapetra. New and existing members voted to hold coffee mornings on the last Sunday of the month and the group is still going strong and attracting new members. They held a Christmas lunch in December which was attended by over 20 members. |

Sitia |

| Also in May, we met up with current and prospective members in Sitia and it was decided to start up a regular coffee morning on the first Friday of each month. The venue – Mitsakakis Cafe and Pastry Shop – is famous for its Loukoumades, Kataifi and Galaktoboureko – so the coffee morning is well worth a visit if any members are ever in Sitia. |  |
King's Birthday |

| Jeannine and Sue were honoured to be invited to the King's Birthday Party reception in June, it was held in the gardens at the Byzantine and Christian Museum in Athens. Whilst there, they caught up with Aristea Chourdaki the Vice Consul from the British Vice Consulate in Heraklion and the photo shows them with Matthew Lodge – His Majesty's Ambassador from the British Embassy in Athens. There were around 700 people in attendance and an excellent evening was had by all! |  |
Elounda Boat Trip |

| In September, more than 30 members, including 8 from Ierapetra, met up at Elounda and enjoyed a sail and swim trip around the Elounda bay. Food, wine and soft drinks were included and it’s safe to say there were a few unsteady legs when members disembarked after their 3 hour trip! |  |
Art, Craft and Photography Exhibition |

| The second art, craft and photography exhibition (the first being held in Neapoli in 2023) took place at the Old Courthouse in Agios Nikolaos, over four days in October, culminating in a special Celebration Night on Saturday 12th. Proceeds from a fundraising initiative to win a beautifully crafted wall quilt were donated to the Domos, Old People’s home to purchase a much needed hoist. |  |

| Around 45 members attended this event which was held at Sports Bar 26 in Aghios Nikolaos on 15th November. They enjoyed a fantastic hot and cold buffet provided by Sophie and caught up with friends old and new. |  |
